The BC Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure (MOTI) is responsible for the construction, operation and maintenance of most roads on Salt Spring.

The Salt Spring Island RCMP is a detachment of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police (RCMP) that provides policing services on the island.
